Wells named to AVCA Best and Brightest First Team

PAINTSVILLE — Paintsville senior setter Ella Wells has been named to the AVCA Best and Brightest First Team.

The AVCA Best and Brightest Award honors individual high school senior student-athletes who excel on and off the court. To be eligible for the Best and Brightest Award, senior student-athletes must have earned at least a 3.5 Unweighted GPA on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent, if using a different GPA scale) during their junior year and play in 50 percent of their varsity team’s sets during their senior season.

Wells has excelled for Paintsville throughout her high school volleyball career. As a senior, Wells delivered 657 assists, 285 digs, 79 service aces, 20 blocks and 15 kills for the Lady Tigers.

Wells helped Paintsville claim 15th Region All “A” Classic and 57th District girls’ volleyball championships. The Lady Tigers finished runner-up in the 15th Region Girls’ Volleyball Tournament.
