Ward commits to Alice Lloyd College

LOUISA — Lawrence County senior center Kaison Ward has committed to the Alice Lloyd College women’s basketball program.

A longtime contributor for Lawrence County, Ward scored 291 points and pulled down 191 rebounds during her junior campaign.

Ward averaged 8.1 points and 5.3 rebounds per game for Lawrence County as a junior in the 2022-23 girls’ high school basketball season.

A versatile performer, Ward can produce from various parts of the court. Ward scored the 1,000th point of her prep career during the 2022-23 girls’ high school basketball season.

Prior to committing to Alice Lloyd, Ward received recruiting interest from several women’s college basketball programs. Ward is among the top girls’ high school basketball players in the 15th Region.

Ward said in a statement on Facebook, “First, I want to thank God for this opportunity and blessing me throughout my basketball career. I would to thank my parents, family and friends for the support they have given me throughout my journey. Thank you to my teammates, Coach Feltner and all my previous coaches who helped me not only grow as a basketball player, but as a person. Thank you, Coach Mills for believing in me and giving me all the support over these years. You’ll will never be forgotten!! With that being said, Alice Lloyd is my new home and I’m blessed to be able to say I’m committed.”

Alice Lloyd competes in the River States Conference, which features women’s college basketball teams from Kentucky, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia. In addition to Alice Lloyd, the River States Conference includes Brescia, IU Kokomo, Indiana East, Indiana Southeast, Midway, Oakland City, Ohio Christian, Point Park, Rio Grande, Shawnee State, St. Mary-of-the-Woods and WVU Tech.
