Tigers roll past Frankfort

FRANKFORT — Paintsville rolled past Frankfort 50-6 in a matchup between Class 1A rivals on Friday, Sept. 19.
The Tigers improved to 4-1 after posting the win. Paintsville returned to the win column after suffering a shutout loss to Russell one week earlier.
Quarterback Parker Helton led Paintsville, completing four passes for 174 yards and three touchdowns.
Anderson Lauffer was Helton’s top target, hauling in three receptions for 164 yards and two touchdowns.
Chipping in through the air, Lukas Stewart added a 50-yard touchdown reception for the Tigers.
Paintsville rushed 14 times for 113 yards and three touchdowns. Brody Howell paced Paintsville on the ground, rushing three times for 62 yards and one touchdown. Following Howell, Andrew Meek rushed six times for 31 yards and two touchdowns in Paintsville’s victory.
Defensively for Paintsville, Michael Ratliff recorded a team-high six tackles, two of which were for losses.
Behind Ratliff, Howell supplied four tackles for losses.
Providing a score from the defensive side, Lauffer returned an interception 52 yards for a touchdown.
Paintsville is scheduled to visit West Carter for its next game on Friday, Sept. 26.
