WINCHESTER — Paintsville pulled away to defeat Bath County 55-6 in the Clark County Hall of Fame Bowl on Friday, Aug. 29.
The Tigers moved to 2-0 after registering the win.
Paintsville set the tone early and forced Bath County to play from behind throughout the bowl game.
Quarterback Parker Helton paced Paintsville through the air, completing 10 passes for 210 yards and four touchdowns.
Anderson Lauffer was Paintsville’s top receiver, hauling in seven receptions for 168 yards and four touchdowns.
Productive on the ground as well as through the air, Paintsville rushed 22 times for 64 yards and three touchdowns. Brody Howell, Lukas Stewart and Colton Short each provided one rushing touchdown for the Tigers.
Delivering a lift on special teams, Lauffer returned a punt for a touchdown. Lauffer was named the player of the game.
Kicker Carson Montgomery, another key player on special teams for Paintsville, connected on five of six extra-point kick attempts.
Defensively for Paintsville. Howell recorded a team-high seven tackles.
Behind Howell, Austin Collier, Micheal Ratliff and Evan Wells each tallied five tackles.
Aiding Paintsville defensively, Jace Hunter recorded four tackles, three tackles for losses and two sacks.
Making an impact across the field for Paintsville, Lauffer added an interception from his defensive position.
Paintsville is scheduled to host Eminence for its next game at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 5.
