Tigers knock off Bulldogs, 5-3

LOUISA — Paintsville managed to knock off Lawrence County 5-3 on Thursday, May 4.
Pitching in relief for Paintsville, Zach Cline claimed the win, Cline pitched three and one-third innings, recording five strikeouts.
Closing the game out for Paintsville, Jonah Porter pitched the final two-thirds of an inning and notched the save. Porter struck out two in his appearance.
Ashton Miller started on the mound for the Tigers. Miller pitched three innings, recording four strikeouts.
Lawrence County pitcher Talan Pollock took the loss on the mound. Pollock pitched four and two-thirds innings, recording five strikeouts.
Seventh grader Gray Derifield, a newcomer for the Bulldogs, pitched two and one-third innings. Derifield struck out three.
Paintsville scored five runs on eight hits. Porter (three hits), Miller (two hits), AJ James (two hits one RBI) and Peyton Adams (one hit, two RBIs) each aided Paintsville offensively.
Eli Fletcher (two hits, one RBI), Dylan Whitt (one hit, one RBI), Boedy Maynard (one hit, one RBI) and Cody Crum (one hit) combined to make up Lawrence County’s offensive attack.
