Dawgs defeat Ashland for third straight win

LOUISA — Registering its third straight win, Lawrence County defeated Ashland 15-8 on Thursday, May 11.
Pitching in relief for Lawrence County, Boedy Maynard claimed the win on the mound.
Ashland starting pitcher Drew Kelley was stuck with the loss.
Lawrence County scored 15 runs on 15 hits. Maynard (two hits, two RBIs), Will Lafferty (three hits, three RBIs), Eli Fletcher (three hits), Braydan Maynard (two hits, two RBIs), Jake Derifield (one hit, one RBI), Abner Collinsworth (one hit, two RBIs), Dylan Whitt (one hit, one RBI), Cody Crum (one hit) and Logan Whisenant (one hit) each thrived at the plate for Lawrence County in its win. Providing a lift at the plate for Lawrence County, Lafferty belted his fifth home run in the 2023 high school baseball season.
Kyle Cordial (two hits, two RBIs), Ryan Brown (two hits, one RBI), LaBryant Strader (one hit, three RBIs), Parker Church (one hit) and Layne Brammer (one hit) aided Ashland at the plate.
Lawrence County 3, Raceland 2 (8 innings): Lawrence County outlasted Raceland 3-2 in eight innings on Senior Night Wednesday, May 10.
Following a failed pickoff attempt, Cody Crum scored from second base to lift Lawrence County to the victory.
Braxton Davis claimed the win on the mound for the Bulldogs.
Will Lafferty and Eli Fletcher delivered two hits apiece for Lawrence County in its thrilling win. Lafferty homered while Fletcher drilled two doubles.
