Tigers drop game to Pike County Central

BUCKLEYS CREEK — Hot-shooting Pike County Central pulled away to defeat Paintsville 75-55 in a boys’ high school basketball game on Tuesday, Dec. 13.
Pike County Central shot 60.8 percent (31 of 51) from the field in the win. The Hawks were six of 17 (35.3 percent) from three-point range.
Pike County Central shot 46.7 percent (seven of 15) from the free-throw line.
Jaylan Rigdon scored a game-high 36 points and pulled down eight rebounds to lead Pike County Central to the win.
Accompanying Rigdon in double figures for the Hawks, Jaden Stewart netted 19 points and Camron Stafford added 11 points.
Paintsville shot 44.9 percent (22 of 49) from the field in the setback. The Tigers were four of 15 (26.7 percent) from three-point range.
Paintsville shot 70 percent (seven of 10) from the free-throw line.
Connor Fugate recorded a double-double to lead the Tigers, scoring 19 points and pulling down 13 rebounds.
Accompanying Fugate in double figures in scoring for Paintsville, Jase Kinner netted 11 points.
Narrowly missing double figures in scoring for the Tigers, Anderson Lauffer and A.J. James added nine points apiece.
Paintsville slipped into the loss column after posting back-to-back wins over Shelby Valley and Belfry.
