CHARLESTON, S.C. — Working its way back into the win column, Lawrence County beat Greenup County 57-51 in the final around of the Carolina Invitational on Friday, Dec. 30.

Andrew Bloomfield scored 25 points to lead Lawrence County to the win. Along with Bloomfield reaching double figures for the Bulldogs, Hayden Perry scored 12 points and Will Lafferty netted 10 points.

Chipping in offensively, Braxton Davis (four points), Logan Ratliff (three points) and Ford Scaggs (three points) provided the rest of Lawrence County’s scoring.

The Bulldogs shot 65 percent (13-of-20) from the free-throw line in the victory.

England (S.C.) pulled away to win 56-36 in the second round of the Carolina Invitational on Thursday, Dec. 29.

Andrew Bloomfield scored 10 points to lead the Bulldogs. Bloomfield was the only Lawrence County player to reach double figures in scoring.

Hayden Perry (nine points), Will Lafferty (eight points), Blake Marcum (seven points) and Logan Ratliff (two points) joined Bloomfield in Lawrence County’s scoring column.

Lawrence County suffered a setback as Metairie Park Country Day (La.) prevailed 58-48 in the opening round of the Carolina Invitational on Wednesday, Dec. 28.

Will Lafferty scored 15 points to lead the Bulldogs. Lawrence County received double figures scoring from four different players as Andrew Bloomfield, Blake Marcum and Hayden Perry netted 10 points apiece.

Completing Lawrence County’s list of individual scorers, Logan Ratliff added four points.

The Bulldogs connected on six three-point field goal goals.

Faring well at the foul line, Lawrence County converted on seven of eight free throw attempts.
