PAINTSVILLE — Remaining undefeated in the first half of the 2026 high school football season, Paintsville defeated Russell 13-7 on Friday, Sept. 11.

Paintsville dealt Russell its first loss in the 2026 high school football season.

Quarterback Parker Helton led Paintsville through the air, completing 12 passes for 127 yards and one touchdown.

Anderson Lauffer continued to lead the Tigers in receiving. Lauffer hauled in five receptions for 79 yards and one touchdown.

Paintsville rushed 22 times for 91 yards and one touchdown. Logan Carpener led the Tigers in rushing. Carpenter rushed seven times for 42 yards and one touchdown.

Defensively for Paintsville, Brody Howell tallied 10 tackles and Kolton Risner (four tackles) recorded an interception.

Quarterback Hunter Williams paced Russell, completing eight passes for 63 yards and one touchdown.

Griffin Fisher emerged as Russell’s leading receiver, reeling in four receptions for 50 yards and one touchdown.

Paintsville is scheduled to visit Frankfort for its next game on Friday, Sept. 18.
