Tigers double up Bulldogs 4-2

PAINTSVILLE – Paintsville doubled up visiting Lawrence County 4-2 in a high school baseball game at Charlie Adkins Field on Tuesday, May 11.
Former 57th District baseball rivals, Paintsville and Lawrence County met for the first time in the 2021 high school baseball season.
Connor Fugate earned the win on the mound for the Tigers. Fugate surrendered two runs on two hits over six innings, recording eight strikeouts.
Jacob Fletcher took the pitching loss for the Bulldogs. Fletcher allowed four runs over six innings, recording nine strikeouts.
Gunner Collins, Griffin Collins, Zach Taylor and Ashton Miller provided one hit apiece for the Tigers in the non-district win. Griffin Collins delivered two RBIs while Gunner Collins and Taylor drove in one run apiece. Gunner Collins homered for the Tigers.
Blue Fletcher and Brayden Maynard recorded two hits apiece for the Bulldogs. Maynard and Bryce Blevins each drove in one run for 2019 15th Region champion Lawrence County.
Defensively, both Paintsville and Lawrence County committed multiple errors.
The Tigers and Bulldogs aren't scheduled to meet again during the 2021 high school baseball regular season.
