Tigers defeat Redhounds in David Iery Invitational at Corbin High School

CORBIN — Paintsville knocked off Corbin 6-2 in the David Iery Invitational on Saturday, April 29.

University of Kentucky signee Connor Fugate started on the mound for Paintsville and claimed the win. Fugate pitched five and one-third innings, allowing one earned run on nine hits while recording nine strikeouts.

Jonah Porter closed out the game on the mound for the Tigers. Porter allowed only one base runner on a walk, recording one strikeout as he claimed the save.

Paintsville plated six runs on six hits. Porter (one hit, one RBI), Dixon Kincheloe (one hit, one RBI), Brock Horne (one hit, one RBI), Anderson Lauffer (one hit), Harris Phelps (one hit) and Ashton Miller (one hit) each contributed offensively for the Tigers.

Madison Southern 4, Paintsville 3: Madison Southern held on to defeat Paintsville 4-3 in the David Iery Invitational at Corbin High School on Saturday, April 29.

Pitching in relief for Paintsville, Parker Crace was stuck with the loss on the mound. Crace pitched one inning, allowing one earned run on one hit while recording two strikeouts.

Ashton Miller started on the mound for the Tigers. Miller pitched five and one-third innings, allowing one earned run on five hits while registering four strikeouts.

Paintsville plated three runs on nine hits. Anderson Lauffer (two hits, one RBI), Jonah Porter (two hits), Grayson Peters (two hits), Harris Phelps (one hit), Austin Allen (one hit) and AJ James (one hit) each chipped in at the plate for Paintsville in the matchup. Porter doubled for the Tigers.
