Tigers defeat Hazard for back-to-back wins

PAINTSVILLE — Paintsville rolled past Hazard 9-1 on Thursday, April 4.

Parker Crace started on the mound for Paintsville and earned the win. Crace recorded seven strikeouts over six innings.

Pitching in relief, Luke Stratton replaced Crace on the mound for the Tigers. Stratton pitched the final inning and struck out three Hazard batters.

Offensively for Paintsville, Crace (one hit), Alex Kimbler (three hits, three RBIs), Brock Horne (two hits, two RBIs), Brody Howell (two hits, two RBIs), Alex Johnson (one hit, one RBI) and Colton Short (one RBI) provided a lift at the plate. Paintsville scored nine runs on nine hits.

Paintsville 7, Hazard 4: Paintsville topped host Hazard 7-4 on Monday, April 1.

Brock Horne started on the mound for Paintsville and claimed the win. Horne pitched six innings and posted two strikeouts.

Anderson Lauffer pitched the final inning for Paintsville and picked up the save. Lauffer struck out one Hazard batter.

Paintsville scored seven runs on five hits. Horne (two hits), Lauffer (one hit, one RBI), Brody Howell (one hit, two RBIs), Colton Short (one hit, one RBI), Shane Blair (one RBI), Alex Johnson (one RBI) and Luke Stratton (one RBI) each delivered offensively for the Tigers.
