PAINTSVILLE — Paintsville junior pitcher Luke Stratton pitched a perfect game at Charlie Adkins Field on Monday, March 23.
Behind Stratton’s perfect game, Paintsville blanked Shelby Valley 10-0 in six innings.
Stratton recorded 11 strikeouts over six innings on the mound, claiming the win.
The Tigers struck early, erupting for five runs during the bottom half of the second inning.
Paintsville, which won via the KHSAA Mercy Rule, scored 10 runs on seven hits.
Helping his pitching cause at the plate, Stratton drove in two runs.
Brody Howell paced Paintsville at the plate, finishing three-for-four with two RBIs.
Anderson Lauffer (one hit, two RBIs), Lukas Stewart (one hit, one RBI), Shane Blair (one hit, one RBI) and Kenneth Tackett (one hit, one RBI) also contributed at the plate in Paintsville’s shutout win. Howell, Lauffer and Blair each doubled
