PRESTONSBURG — Lawrence County swept Prestonsburg in a 58th District softball series, winning both games via shutouts.
The Lady Bulldogs pulled away to win each 58th District softball game convincingly.
Lawrence County 19, Prestonsburg 0 (3 innings): Lawrence County shut out Prestonsburg 19-0 in three innings in a 58th District softball game at StoneCrest on Thursday, March 26.
Taylor Blevins pitched a one-hit shutout for Lawrence County and earned the win in the circle. Blevins recorded eight strikeouts.
Utilizing With a balanced offensive attack. Lawrence County scored 19 runs on 13 hits. Blevins (two hits, two RBIs), Jada Patton (three hits, four RBIs), Addalyn Woods (three hits, two RBIs), Lexi Crum (two hits, two RBIs), Brinley Baisden (one hit, two RBIs), Ella Smith (one hit, two RBIs), Emalynn Kitts (one hit) and Aleaha Gillispie (one hit) each contributed at the plate in Lawrence County’s shutout win. Aiding her pitching cause at the plate, Blevins homered.
Lawrence County 17, Prestonsburg 0 (3 innings): Lawrence County blanked vesting Prestnsbirg 17-0 in three innings in a 58th District softball game in Louisa on Tuesday, March 24.
Taylor Blevins and Brinley Baisden combined to pitch a three-hit shutout for the Lady Bulldogs. Blevins started in the circle, pitched one inning and earned the win. Closing out the game, Baisden pitched the last two innings and claimed the save. Each Lawrence County pitcher recorded three strikeouts.
Blevins (three hits, three RBIs), Baisden (two hits, three RBIs), Aleaha Gillispie (two hits, two RBIs), Ella Smith (one hit, three RBIs), Gracie Woods (one hit, two RBIs), Emalynn Kitts (one hit, one RBI), Jada Patton (one hit, one RBI) and Lexi Crum (one hit) each delivered in multiple at bats for the Lady Bulldogs.
