Red, White and Bluegill Kids Fishing Derby brings out 50 participates to Yatesville Lake

The weather was perfect, fish were biting, kids were fishing, good food was eaten, prizes were given, and yes, all this happened at the Yatesville Lake Marina in Louisa on Saturday, May 11.

The event was the Red, White and Bluegill Kids Fishing Derby, hosted by Rebel Rivers Outfitters. A total of 50 kids participated. Chandler Maynard, 8-years old, won the trophy for Biggest Fish.

Winners of the 3-5 year old division, were first place, Josie McCoy and second place, Cain May.

Winners of the 6-9 division: first place, Keegan Key and second place, Weylan Mollette.

Winners of the 10-12 division: Kaylee, first place and second place, Codee Obrian.

Winners of the 13-16 division: Lakyn Bush, first place and Sarie Pavlovski, second place.

According to organizer, Ken Akers, many people stepped up and donated prizes for the kids.
