Raceland downs Johnson Central 69-59

ASHLAND — Winning on a neutral court, Raceland defeated Johnson Central 69-59 in the Boyd County Roundball Classic Saturday, Dec. 10.

Excelling offensively, Raceland shot 59.5 percent (25 of 42) from the field. The Rams shot 42.9 percent (six of 14) from three-point range.

Raceland shot 72.2 percent (13 of 18) from the free-throw line.

Christian Large scored 22 points to lead Raceland to the win. In addition to Large reaching double figures for the Rams, Jonah Arnett scored 15 points, Jacob Gauze netted 13 points and Connor Thacker tallied 12 points.

Gauze recorded a double-double for the Rams, grabbing 11 rebounds.

Johnson Central shot 38.3 percent (23 of 60) from the field. The Golden Eagles shot 45.5 percent (10 of 22) from three-point range.

But Johnson Central connected on only three of 10 free-throw attempts in the setback.

Conner Hopkins scored 20 points to lead the Golden Eagles. Hopkins hit six of 10 three-point field goal attempts.

Ryan Rose delivered a double-double for Johnson Central, scoring 13 points and claiming 12 rebounds,

Johnson Central featured four scorers in double figures, with Austin Slone adding 11 points and David Fink contributing 10 points.
