Prestonsburg claims 15th Region All ‘A’ Classic title

PIKEVILLE — Prestonsburg shut out Pikeville 2-0 in the 15th Region All “A” Classic boys’ soccer tournament title match on Saturday, Sept. 6.

The Blackcats won on Pikeville’s home field.

Jose Maldonado provided Prestonsburg’s scoring, finding the net twice in the tournament title match.

Getting involved offensively for the Blackcats, Taegan Slone and Christian Amador dished out one assist apiece.

Prestonsburg goalkeeper Denver Stanley recorded a shutout. Stanley made six saves in the title match.

Prestonsburg is matched up against Menifee County in the opening round of the All “A” Classic Boys’ Soccer Statewide Tournament. The Blackcats and Wildcats will meet in Frenchburg later in the month.
