Martin County captures 15th Region All ‘A’ Classic title

Martin County won the 15th Region All "A" Classic girls' soccer title on Saturday, Sept. 6.

PIKEVILLE — Martin County blanked Prestonsburg 8-0 in the 15th Region All “A” Classic girls’ soccer title match at Pikeville on Saturday, Sept. 6.

The Lady Cardinals moved to 8-0 after recording the shutout win.

Maja Alm-Arnesen accounted for half of Martin County’s offense, scoring four goals.

Faith Caldwell (two goals, four assists), Annaleigh Davis (one goal), Jaz Jude (one goal), Hope Caldwell (two assists) and Madelyn Goble (one assists) provided the rest of Martin County’s offense in the shutout win.

Goalkeeper Brianna Muncy excelled defensively for Martin County, posting a shutout. Muncy recorded 10 saves in Martin County’s shutout win.

Martin County is slated to meet 16th Region champion Menifee County in the opening round of the All “A” Classic Girls’ Soccer Statewide Tournament later in the month.
