Paintsville wins 15th Region All ‘A’ Classic title

ROBINSON CREEK — Paintsville shut out Shelby Valley 2-0 in the 15th Region All “A” Classic title match on Thursday, Sept. 7.

Capturing the region championship, Paintsville defeated Shelby Valley 25-20, 25-21.

Jenna Ousley (1 assist, 11 digs), Bailey Porter (1 block, 21 assists, 3 digs, 1 service ace), Sarah Ward (2 digs, 1 service ace), Olivia Maynard (5 kills, 1 block, 2 assists, 8 digs, 1 service ace), Kylie Kinner (16 kills, 2 blocks, 4 digs, 2 service aces), Annabelle Blankenship (1 kill, 2 blocks), Kat Baldwin (4 kills, 3 digs) and Chessa Collins (3 digs) each contributed to Paintsville’s championship-clinching win.

Prior to the title match, Paintsville blanked Belfry 2-0 (25-18, 25-22) in the 15th Region All “A” Classic on Tuesday, Sept. 5.

Under the direction of Coach Dawn Kinner, Paintsville won the 2022 All “A” Classic state title.

Paintsville advanced to the All “A” Classic State Volleyball Tournament, which is slated to be held Friday, Sept. 15-Saturday, Sept. 16 at Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond.
