Paintsville tops Pike County Central 57-51

PAINTSVILLE — Paintsville topped visiting Pike County Central, a 15th Region rival, 57-51 in a girls' high school basketball season opener on Tuesday, Nov. 30.

Seventh grade guard Kylie Kinner scored 18 points to lead Paintsville to the win. Kinner connected on seven of 12 field goal attempts.
Accompanying Kinner in double figures in scoring for the Tigers, Leandra Curnutte and Camryn Helton netted 10 points apiece.
Narrowly missing double figures in scoring for Paintsville, Ava Hyden posted nine points.
Emilea Preece, who added five points, paced Paintsville inside. Preece pulled down 12 rebounds for the Tigers.
Pike County Central finished 20-of-54 from the field, which included connecting on only three of 18 three-point field goal attempts.
Hannah May led Pike County Central, scoring a game-high 19 points for the Hawks.
Recording a double-double for Pike County Central, Lindsey Bowman netted 11 points and pulled down 12 rebounds.
Paintsville is scheduled to visit Pike County Central for another girls' high school basketball game on Thursday, Jan. 20.
