Paintsville rolls past Betsy Layne 62-28

BETSY LAYNE — Paintsville rolled past Betsy Layne 62-28 in a girls' high school basketball game at Junior Newsome Arena on Thursday, Feb. 17.

Visiting Paintsville shot 40.7 percent (24-of--59) from the field. The Lady Tigers connected on 12 of 42 three-point field goal attempts.

Seventh grade guard Kylie Kinner scored a game-high 28 points and pulled down nine rebounds to lead Paintsville to the win. Kinner hit seven of 15 three-point field goal attempts.

Joining Kinner in double figures for Paintsville and nearly registering a double-double, Emilea Preece added 16 points and nine rebounds.

Contributing to Paintsville's win, Camryn Helton added seven points.

Paintsville 65, Mountain Mission (Va.) 55

Paintsville defeated visiting Mountain Mission (Va.) 65-55 in a girls' high school basketball game on Monday, Feb. 14.

The Lady Tigers shot 37.1 percent (13-of-35) from three-point range. Paintsville shot 80 percent (12-of-15) from the free throw line.

Emilea Preece scored 19 points to lead Paintsville to the win. Along with Preece reaching double figures for Paintsville, Kali Mulcahy scored 18 points and Camryn Helton netted 17 points.

Contributing to Paintsville's win, Ava Hyden added seven points and nine rebounds.
