Paintsville notches district win over Magoffin County 47-25

PAINTSVILLE — Paintsville notched a 57th District win over visiting Magoffin County on Friday, Dec. 10, winning 47-25.

After claiming the win, Paintsville improved to 3-1 overall and opened 1-0 in the 57th District.

Magoffin County suffered its fourth straight loss, opening 0-1 in the 57th District while slipping to 1-6 overall.

Paintsville hit 12 of 23 free throw attempts in the win.

Emilea Preece led Paintsville with a near-double-double, scoring 16 points and pulling down nine rebounds.

Accompanying Preece in double figures in scoring for Paintsville, Leandra Curnutte netted 14 points.

Following Preece in scoring for the Lady Tigers, Camryn Helton contributed seven points.

Paintsville is scheduled to visit Magoffin County for a 57th District girls' basketball game on Friday, Jan. 21, 2022.
