Paintsville edges Floyd Central 63-61

PAINTSVILLE — Paintsville edged visiting Floyd Central 63-61 in a girls’ high school basketball game on Tuesday, Jan. 10.

Winning on its home court, Paintsville shot 44.7 percent (21-of-47) from the field. The Lady Tigers shot 43.5 percent (10-of-23) from three-point range.

Paintsville shot 73.3 percent (11-of-15) from the free throw line in the winning effort.

Kylie Kinner scored a team-high 21 points to lead Paintsville to the win.

Nearly recording a double-double for Paintsville, Emilea Preece posted 18 points and nine rebounds.

Accompanying Kinner and Preece in double figures for the Lady Tigers, Kayllyn Vannoy netted 10 points.

Barely missing double figures for Paintsville, Kali Mulcahy added nine points.

Rounding out Paintsville’s scoring, Camryn Helton chipped in five points.

Floyd Central shot 43.4 percent (23-of-53) from the field in the girls’ high school basketball game. The Lady Jaguars connected on six of 18 three-point field goal attempts.
