PAINTSVILLE — Paintsville edged visiting Floyd Central 6-5 in a high school softball game on Monday, March 20.
The Lady Tigers scored first and never trailed. Paintsville led 6-0 at the end of the fourth inning.
Molly Music started in the circle for Paintsville and claimed the win. Music pitched four and one-third innings, allowing five runs on five hits while recording one strikeout.
Laney Bledsoe pitched the final one and two-thirds innings for Paintsville to claim the save. Bledsoe held Floyd Central scoreless, allowing two hits while registering three strikeouts.
Hannah Lewis suffered the loss in the circle for visiting Floyd Central.
Paintsville edged Floyd Central 9-8 in the hits column and committed one less error.
The Lady Tigers scored six runs on 10 hits. Music (two hits, two RBIs), Destiny Trimble (three hits, one RBI), Ashley Wells (three hits, two RBIs), Zoey Jordan (one hit) and Chessa Collins (one hit) each delivered at the plate for Paintsville in the win.
Defensively, Floyd Central committed three errors.
Lewis (one hit, one RBI) and Chelsea Johnson (two hits, two RBIs) combined to lead Floyd Central’s offensive effort in the high school softball game.
