RICHMOND — Paintsville captured the All “A” Classic Statewide Tournament title at Eastern Kentucky University’s McBrayer Arena on Saturday, Sept. 17.

Under the direction of coach Dawn Kinner, Paintsville overcame a slow start to defeat Holy Cross (Covington) 2-1 (17-25, 26-24, 25-18) in the All “A” Classic title match.

The Tigers posted additional wins over Williamsburg, Wolfe County, Presentation, Community Christian (Paducah) and Bethlehem during the statewide tournament.

Paintsville senior Blair Ratliff was named the All “A” Classic Statewide Tournament Most Valuable Player.

Bella Blackburn, Kynzie Slone and Kara Ward represented Paintsville on the All-All “A” Classic Statewide Tournament Team.

Paintsville exited the All “A” Classic Statewide Tournament 24-2. The Tigers haven’t dropped a match to an in-state opponent thus far in the 2022 high school volleyball season.

Paintsville will compete in the 57th District Volleyball Tournament in mid-October.
