BUCKLEY CREEK — Paintsville shut out crosstown rival Johnson Central 3-0 in the 15th Region Volleyball Tournament title match at Pike County Central on Thursday, Oct. 31.

Following the 15th Region championship-clinching win, Paintsville advanced to the KHSAA Volleyball State Tournament.

Paintsville won 25-21, 25-17, 27-25.

Olivia Maynard (20 kills, 2 assists, 14 digs), Kylie Kinner (21 kills, 1 block, 2 assists, 3 digs, 3 service aces), Bailee Porter (2 kills, 1 block, 38 assists, 6 digs), Jenna Ousley (2 assists, 13 digs, 3 service aces), Mallory May (2 kills, 1 dig), Sarah Ward (1 assist, 5 digs), Ella Wells (1 kill, 4 digs), Annabelle Blankenship (1 kill, 1 block, 1 dig) and Julia Veronneau each made an impact for the Lady Tigers.

At the conclusion of the title match, Maynard was named the 15th Region Volleyball Tournament MVP.

Paintsville moved on to meet 13th Region title winner Whitley County in the opening round of the KHSAA Volleyball State Tournament.
