Bulldogs knock off Mason County 49-20

MAYSVILLE — Lawrence County knocked off Mason County 49-20 in a regular season finale on Friday, Nov. 1.

Each team exited the regular season finale 7-3.

Lawrence County dealt Mason County its second straight loss.

The Bulldogs, under the direction of Coach Alan Short, scored first and never trailed in the regular season finale.

Lawrence County gradually pulled away to win convincingly.

Quarterback Luke Fetherolf led Lawrence County to the win. Through the air, Fetherolf completed 17 passes for 279 yards and three touchdowns. On the ground, Fetherolf rushed nine times for 91 yards and one touchdown.

Gray Derifield, Carlo Chicko and Andrew Ratcliff each hauled in one touchdown pass reception for the Bulldogs.

Lawrence County rushed 30 times for 190 yards and three touchdowns. Along with Fetherolf, Kaden Johnson and Ty Brooks added one rushing touchdown apiece for the Bulldogs.

Lawrence County is scheduled to host Clay County in the opening round of the KHSAA Class 3A Playoffs on Friday, Nov. 8.
