BELFRY — Halting a losing skid at three games, Paintsville beat Belfry 46-33 on Wednesday, Dec. 13.
With the win, Paintsville improved to 2-3.
Paintsville shot 45.7 percent (16-of-35) from the field. The Tigers made four of 15 three-point field goal attempts.
Paintsville shot 52.6 percent (10-of-19) from the free throw line and edged Belfry 30-29 in the rebounding column.
Ethan Cole scored 21 points to lead Paintsville to the win. Cole connected on seven of 10 two-point field goal attempts.
Along with Cole reaching double figures for Paintsville, Anderson Lauffer scored 17 points.
Accounting for the rest of Paintsville’s scoring, Brock Woods added six points and Jase Kinner netted two points.
Kinner paced Paintsville inside, pulling down nine rebounds.
Belfry shot only 23.9 percent (11-of-46) from the field. The Pirates made six of 20 three-point field goal attempts to shoot 30 percent from beyond the arc.
Belfry shot 50 percent (five-of-10) from the free throw line.
Eric Daniels scored 18 points to lead the Pirates. Giving Belfry two scorers in double figures, Erik Rash drained four of 13 three-point field goal attempts and added 12 points.
Providing Belfry’s other scoring, Caden Woolum added two points and Gregory Flemings contributed one point.
