Melvin hired as new head football coach at Paintsville High School

After the resignation of Trevor Hoskins, head coach at Paintsville High School, the school has announced that Brian Melvin has been named the new football coach. Melvin was the Defensive Coordinator from 2016 to 2022. He is a Paintsville native and played for the Tigers from 1998 to 2001.

In a statement on Facebook Melvin said, “As your coach, my promise is simple, I will give this team and this community everything I have. I will push our players to be their best, support them on and off the field, and create an environment where hard work and dedication pay off. Together we will celebrate victories, learn from setbacks, and keep moving forward.”

He continued, “Finally, to the players, I want you to know that I believe in each one of you. This if your team and I am here to guide, support and challenge you to reach your full potential.”

He also had a message for the parents, “To the parents, I appreciate the trust you place in me, and I will work every day to make sure you’re proud to wear this jersey.”
