BELFRY — Blake Maynard led Lawrence County past Belfry 8-2 in a 57th District boys’ soccer match on Monday, Sept. 25.

Maynard, who is closing in on the state’s all-time scoring record, netted eight goals to lead Lawrence County to the district win.

Andrew Vinson dealt out four assists for the Bulldogs.

Chipping in offensively for Lawrence County, Landon Fairchild, Gavin Wells, Owen Pack and Caden Sweeney contributed one assist apiece.

Goalkeeper Ryland Brady, who limited Belfry to a pair of goals, recorded seven saves as Lawrence County claimed the district win.

Isaac Elia led Belfry, scoring both of the Pirates’ goals in the district match.

Defensively for Belfry, goalkeeper Makaden Maynard recorded seven saves while allowing eight goals.
