LCHS routs Floyd Central in five innings

LOUISA — Lawrence County rolled past Floyd Central 14-1 in five innings in the semifinals of the 2A, Section 8 Baseball Tournament at Randy Keeton Field on Tuesday, April 12.
Blue Fletcher picked up the win on the mound for the Bulldogs. Fletcher pitched two innings, allowing one run on three hits.
Following Fletcher on the mound for Lawrence County, Talon Pollock pitched two scoreless innings.
Closing out the game on the mound for the Bulldogs, Eli Fletcher sat Floyd Central down in order during the top half of the fifth inning.
Kolten Crum started on the mound for the Jaguars and took the loss. Crum pitched two innings, allowing five runs on six hits and two walks while recording one strikeout.
In addition to Crum, Logan Moore, Connor Hopkins, Koen Reeves and Nick Rackley pitched for the Jaguars.
Will Lafferty and Luke Patton provided three hits apiece for Lawrence County, delivering four RBIs and two RBIs, respectively.
Helping his pitching cause at the plate, Blue Fletcher contributed two hits.
Moving runners around the bases in another solid offensive performance for Lawrence County, Marshall University signee Bryce Blevins singled and drove in two runs.
Offensively for Floyd Central, Reeves, Max Martin, Dylan Mosley and Wesley Prater each connected for one hit.
Jace Martin drove in the Jaguars’ lone run.
Lawrence County 6, Belfry 5 (nine innings)
Lawrence County outlasted Belfry 6-5 in nine innings in the opening round of the 2A, Section 8 Tournament at Randy Keeton Field on Monday, April 11.
Will Lafferty provided the game-winning hit in the ninth inning to lift Lawrence County to the victory. Lafferty’s hit allowed teammate Nick Collinsworth to score.
Lafferty, Blue Fletcher and Eli Fletcher each homered for Lawrence County in the win.
Working in relief, Bryce Blevins pitched two and two-thirds innings and claimed the win. Blevins allowed only two hits and recorded seven strikeouts.
Jake Derifield work four and two-thirds innings in relief for the Bulldogs.
Luke Patton made the start on the mound for Lawrence County in the opening round game.
Delivering at the plate, Blevins singled and drove in one run. In addition to Blevins, Derifield drove in one run.
