Lawrence County upends Greenup County, 4-1

LLOYD — Lawrence County upended Greenup County 4-1 in a high school softball game on Saturday, April 23.

Allie Triplett picked up the win in the circle for the Lady Bulldogs. Triplett pitched four and two-thirds innings, allowing one run on seven hits and one walk while recording two strikeouts.

Taylor Blevins closed out the game in the circle for Lawrence County and notched the save. Blevins pitched two and one-third innings, limiting Greenup County to one hit while posting two strikeouts.

Kaylie Lawrence started in the circle for Greenup County and suffered the loss. Lawrence pitched five innings, allowing three runs on six hits while recording three strikeouts.

Josey Kegley pitched the final two innings for Greenup County, allowing one run on four hits.

Gracie Preece finished 3-for-4 to lead Lawrence County at the plate. Following Preece in Lawrence County’s offensive attack, Abby Nelson and Bree Jones added two hits apiece.

Contributing at the plate for the Lady Bulldogs, Shelby Blevins, Danielle Crum and Taylor Blevins supplied one hit apiece.

Crum homered for Lawrence County in the victory.

Both Preece and Crum drove in two runs for the Lady Bulldogs.

Kamrin Chapman, Carli Miller and Kennedy McCoy paced Greenup County at the plate, providing two hits apiece. McCoy drove in Greenup County’s lone run.
