LOUISA — Lawrence County notched a pair of shutout wins Thursday, April 28-April 29, blanking East Carter and Spring Valley (W.Va.) in high school baseball games.

Visiting Lawrence County pulled away to defeat East Carter 9-0 in a high school baseball game on Thursday, April 28.
Taking control early, Lawrence County scored four runs in the top half of the first inning.
The Bulldogs outhit the Raiders 12-4.
Luke Patton earned the win on the mound for the Bulldogs. Patton pitched six scoreless innings, allowing three hits while recording eight strikeouts.
Eli Fletcher threw one inning in relief for the Bulldogs.
Caden Hicks started on the mound for East Carter and suffered the loss. Hicks pitched three innings, allowing seven runs on seven hits and one walk.
Closing out the game on the mound, Ryland Fuller threw four innings in relief for the Raiders.
Patton, Will Lafferty, Blue Fletcher and Eli Fletcher each collected multiple hits for the Bulldogs. Lafferty led Lawrence County at the plate, drilling three hits in four at-bats.
Blue Fletcher, Bryce Blevins and Abner Collinsworth each drove in two runs for the Bulldogs.
Four different East Carter players connected for one hit in the high school baseball matchup.

Lawrence County shut out homestanding Spring Valley (W.Va.) 5-0 in a high school baseball game on Friday, April 29.
Moving ahead early, Lawrence County plated two runs in the top half of the first inning.
Bryce Blevins pitched a complete game and earned the win on the mound for the Bulldogs. Blevins tossed a two-hit shutout, recording 16 strikeouts over seven innings.
Ethan Fraley started on the mound for the Timberwolves and took the loss. Fraley allowed two runs on one hit over one inning.
The Bulldogs outhit Spring Valley 8-2.
Luke Patton went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Bulldogs’ offensive effort.
Eli Fletcher and Brayden Maynard each drove in one run for Lawrence County. Maynard doubled in the Bulldogs’ shutout win.
Defensively, Spring Valley committed four errors.
