Lawrence County beat Prestonsburg, Horn notches 200th win

PRESTONSBURG — Lawrence County pulled away to beat Prestonsburg 17-1 in four innings in a 58th District softball game on Tuesday, April 19, giving head coach Kenny Horn his 200th career win.
The Lady Bulldogs took control early, setting the tone in the 58th District softball game during the opening inning.
Taylor Blevins earned the win in the circle for the Lady Bulldogs. Blevins pitched four innings, allowing one run on three hits while recording seven strikeouts.
Haileigh Jefferson started in the circle for Prestonsburg and suffered the loss. Jefferson allowed 17 runs on eight hits and four walks while recording five strikeouts over three and one-third innings.
In addition to Jefferson, Elana Goble pitched for the Lady Blackcats.
Kensley Feltner paced Lawrence County at the plate, finishing 3-for-3. Both Feltner and Shelby Blevins homered for the Lady Bulldogs.
Feltner, Taylor Blevins, Shelby Blevins, Gracie Preece and Danielle Crum each collected two RBIs in Lawrence County’s victory.
Chloe Collins drove in Prestonsburg’s lone run. Three different Lady Blackcats logged one hit apiece in the district game.
