Lawrence County teams fall in 2A, Section 8 semifinals

EASTERN — Each Lawrence County basketball team came up short in a 2A, Section 8 Tournament game at Floyd Central on Monday, Jan. 13.

Perry County Central outlasted Lawrence County 69-67 in double overtime in the semifinals of the 2A, Section 8 Girls’ Basketball Tournament.

Following its win, Perry County Central advanced to meet Johnson Central in the 2A, Section 8 Girls’ Basketball Tournament title game on Tuesday, Jan. 14.

The Bulldogs battled back from behind during the nightcap but came up short as Pike County Central won 81-72 in the semifinals of the 2A, Section 8 Boys’ Basketball Tournament. With its win, Pike County Central moved on to meet Johnson Central in the 2A, Section 8 Boys’ Basketball Tournament title game on Tuesday, Jan. 14.
