Lawrence County sweeps doubleheader from Ashland

LOUISA — Lawrence County swept former 16th Region rival Ashland in a high school baseball doubleheader over the weekend, winning 17-8 in the opening matchup and 11-1 in six innings in game two on Saturday, May 8.

Lawrence County pulled away to defeat Ashland 11-1 in six innings in the final game of a high school baseball doubleheader on Saturday, May 8.
Will Lafferty earned the win on the mound for the Bulldogs. Lafferty surrendered one run on two hits over five innings, recording four strikeouts.
Jacob Fletcher pitched one inning in relief for the Bulldogs. Fletcher recorded the last three outs to notch the save.
Spencer Greene started on the mound for the Tomcats. Greene surrendered eight runs on 14 hits over four and a third innings, striking out one and walking zero.
Kaden Brewer pitched one and one-third innings in relief for the Tomcats.
Lawrence County outhit Ashland 18-3.
Abner Collinsworth, Bryce Blevins, Blue Fletcher, Jacob Fletcher, Braydan Maynard and Jake Derifield each collected multiple hits for the Bulldogs.
Collinsworth led Lawrence County at the plate, finishing 4-for-4.
Eli Miller went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Ashland's offensive effort.
