LOUISA — Lawrence County shut out rival Wayne (W.Va.) 6-0 on Monday, April 8.
Moving ahead after the initial inning, Lawrence County pushed across one run during its second at-bat.
Extending its lead, Lawrence County scored three runs in the bottom half of the third inning.
A perennial title contender, Lawrence County plated one run in each of its last two at-bats.
Brooklyn Ellis pitched a two-hit shutout for the Lady Bulldogs. Ellis, who claimed the win in the circle, recorded 12 strikeouts.
Lawrence County scored six runs on six hits. Ellis (one hit, one RBI), Abby Nelson (one hit, two RBIs), Dani Crum (one hit, one RBI), Hallie Adkins (one hit), Jada Patton (one hit), Bree Jones (one hit) and Gracie Preece (one RBI) each contributed at the plate for Lawrence County in its shutout win.
