PRESTONSBURG — Lawrence County shut out Prestonsburg 21-0 in three innings in a 58th District softball game on Thursday, March 28.

Taylor Blevins and Ella Smith combined to pitch a two-hit shutout for Lady Bulldogs.

Blevins started in the circle for Lawrence County and claimed the win. The Lawrence County starter pitched the opening inning.

Working in relief for Lawrence County, Smith pitched the last two innings.

Blevins and Smith each recorded three strikeouts.

Pitching in relief for Prestonsburg, Ava Vanover took the loss.

Lawrence County scored 21 runs on 20 hits. A balanced offensive attack for the Lady Bulldogs featured Blevins (one hit), Smith (one hit, one RBI), Bree Jones (four hits, two RBIs), Jaylee Maxie (three hits, four RBIs), Abby Nelson (two hits, three RBIs), Dani Crum (two hits, three RBIs), Jada Patton (two hits, two RBIs), Gracie Preece (one hit, two RBIs), Lexi Crum (one hit, one RBI), Hallie Adkins (one hit, one RBI), Abby Maynard (one hit) and Addalyn Woods (one hit). Maxie, Nelson and Crum each homered for the Lady Bulldogs.

Johnna Ward and Rachael Roberts each recorded one hit for Prestonsburg in the district game.
