Lawrence County shuts out Pikeville

LOUISA — Lawrence County shut out Pikeville 5-0 in a 57th District girls’ soccer match on Saturday, Sept. 27.

After registering the win, Lawrence County improved to 9-7-1.

Harper Cline led Lawrence County to the win, scoring two goals and dishing out two assists.

Accompanying Cline in Lawrence County’s scoring column, Violet Preece, Dakota Thornsbury and Kathy Mynhier each netted one goal.

Goalkeeper Emalynn Kitts led Lawrence County defensively, recording a shutout. Kitts posted 11 saves for the Lady Bulldogs.  

Lawrence County 8, Greenup County 2: Lawrence County defeated non-district opponent Greenup County 8-2 on Thursday, Sept. 25.

Kathy Mynhier led Lawrence County, scoring four goals.

Along with Mynhier, Addison Howard (two goals, one assist), Paula Corominas (one goal, two assists), Dakota Thornsbury (one goal), Reagan Webb (one assist) and Harper Cline (one assist) excelled offensively for the Lady Bulldogs.

Defensively for Lawrence County, Emalynn Kitts and Makayla Stinnett split time at goalkeeper during the match. Kitts and Stinnett combined to record 19 saves.
