Lawrence County shuts out Paintsville 12-0

LOUISA — Behind a strong pitching performance from Bree Jones, Lawrence County blanked Paintsville 12-0 in five innings on Thursday, March 23.

Jones earned the win in the circle. Pitching a shutout, Jones limited Paintsville to four hits while giving up four walks and recording five strikeouts.

Paintsville pitcher Molly Music took the loss in the circle.

Helping her pitching cause at the plate, Jones went two-for-three with three RBIs.

Lawrence County scored 12 runs on 10 hits. Along with Jones, Lawrence County’s offensive effort featured Abby Nelson (two hits, two RBIs), Kensley Feltner (one hit, one RBI), Allie Triplett (one hit, one RBI), Dani Crum (one hit, one RBI), Jada Patton (one hit), Abby Maynard (one hit), Jaylee Maxie (one hit) and Shelby Blevins (one hit).

Offensively for Paintsville, Destiny Trimble delivered two singles and Chessa Collins doubled.

Lawrence County 6, Lewis County 5

Lawrence County edged visiting Lewis County 6-5 on Tuesday, March 21.

Taylor Blevins pitched three and two-thirds innings in relief for Lawrence County and earned the win. Blevins limited Lewis County to one run on four hits while recording six strikeouts.

Allie Triplett started in the circle for Lawrence County. Triplett pitched three and one-third innings, allowing four runs on eight hits while logging one strikeout.

Lawrence County scored six runs on seven hits. Dani Crum led Lawrence County at the plate, finishing three-for-four with a home run and two RBIs.

Contributing at the plate, Bree Jones (two hits, one RBI), Kensley Feltner (one hit two RBIs), Abby Nelson (one hit) and Jada Patton (one RBI) aided Lawrence County in the win.
