LOUISA — Lawrence County shut out visiting Magoffin County 3-0 in a high school volleyball season opener on Monday, Aug. 15.

A member of the 58th District, Lawrence County defeated Magoffin County 25-12, 25-18, 25-17.

Lawrence County and Magoffin County are former 57th District rivals.

Ally Huffman (3 kills, 6 digs, 2 service aces), Emma Collins (1 kill, 4 assists, 3 digs, 12 service aces), Laura Compton (3 digs), Sophie Adkins (5 kills, 3 digs, 6 service aces), Timmy Ellis (5 kills, 1 assist, 6 digs, 2 service aces0, Kenzley Brooks (3 kills, 1 assist, 1 dig, 1 service ace) and Grace Blevins (11 assists, 3 digs, 2 service aces) each contributed for Lawrence County in the shutout win.

Lawrence County is scheduled to visit 57th District member Magoffin County for another high school volleyball match on Tuesday, Sept. 13.
