Lawrence County rolls to win over Pike County Central

PRESTONSBURG — Lawrence County defeated Pike County Central 16-3 in five innings during the semifinals of the 2A, Section 8 Softball Tournament at StoneCrest on Tuesday, April 7.  

Lexi Crum hit a walk off grand slam to lift Lawrence County to the win.

Lawrence County scored 14 runs over its last three at bats to pull away for the victory.

Taylor Blevins pitched for Lawrence County and earned the win in the circle. Blevins held Pike County Central to one run on three hits and recorded nine strikeouts.

Lawrence County scored 16 runs on 17 hits. Crum (two hits, five RBIs), Blevins (three hits, two RBIs), Jada Patton (three hits, one RBI), Ella Smith (two hits, two RBIs), Emalynn Kitts (two hits, one RBI), Gracie Woods (two hits), Addalyn Woods (one hit, two RBIs), Leah Branham (one hit, one RBI) and Aleaha Gillispie each aided Lawrence County at the plate.  

The win allowed Lawrence County to advance to the 2A, Section 8 Softball Tournament title game.
