Lawrence County falls to Allen County-Scottsville

OWENSBORO — Allen County-Scottsville prevented Lawrence County from registering its second win in the 2A Softball State Tournament, outlasting the Lady Bulldogs 10-8 at Jack C. Fisher Park on Saturday, April 18.

Taylor Blevins started in the circle for Lawrence County and suffered the loss. Blevins pitched four and two-thirds innings and recorded three strikeouts.

Behind Blevins, Brinley Baisden pitched one and one-third innings in relief for the Lady Bulldogs. Baisden recorded two strikeouts.

Lawrence County was efficient offensively, scoring eight runs on eight hits. Baisden (one hit, two RBIs), Jada Patton (three hits, four RBIs), Addalyn Woods (two hits, one RBI), Millie Sammons (one hit), Emalynn Kitts (one hit) and Lexi Crum (one hit) each contributed to Lawrence County’s offensive effort.

Earning an honor following the game, Kitts represented Lawrence County on the Alll-2A Softball State Tournament Team.
