Lawrence County rolls past Jenkins 77-38

JENKINS – Kensley Feltner scored 25 points and pulled down 11 rebounds to lead visiting Lawrence County over newfound 15th Region rival Jenkins 77-38 in a girls' high school basketball game on Tuesday, Feb. 9.

Lawrence County shot 43.3 percent (29-of-67) from the field. The Lady Bulldogs were 8-of-25 (32 percent) from 3-point range.

Lawrence County shot 73.3 percent (11-of-15) from the free throw line.

Controlling the backboards, Lawrence County outrebounded Jenkins 42-22.

Ellie Webb followed Feltner in double figures for Lawrence County, scoring 20 points.

Providing a double-double for the Lady Bulldogs, Kaison Ward added 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Defensively, Lawrence County limited Jenkins in the matchup.

Jenkins, former member of the bordering 14th Region, shot 27.3 percent (12-of-44) from the field. The Lady Cavaliers were 4-of-19 (21.1 percent) from 3-point range.

Jenkins shot 58.8 percent (10-of-17) from the free throw line.

Lindsey Rose led Jenkins, scoring a team-high 17 points and hauling in seven rebounds. Rose was the only Jenkins player to reach double figures in scoring.
