Lawrence County rolls past Betsy Layne in three innings

STANVILLE — Lawrence County rolled past Betsy Layne 20-0 in three innings in a 58th District softball game on Friday, May 9.
Taylor Blevins and Aleaha Gillispie combined to pitch a one-hit shutout for the Lady Bulldogs. Blevins started in the circle for Lawrence County and earned the win. The Lawrence County starter pitched two innings and recorded six strikeouts. Following Blevins, Gillispie pitched one inning in relief for the Lady Bulldogs and posted two strikeouts.
Lawrence County scored 20 runs on 11 hits. Blevins (one hit, one RBI), Gillispie (one hit, one RBI), Addalyn Woods (two hits, four RBIs), Jada Patton (two hits, two RBIs), Millie Sammons (two hits), Ella Smith (one hit, three RBIs), Brinley Baisden (one hit), Bree Jones (two RBIs), Lexi Crum (one RBI), Abby Maynard (one RBI) and Addison Bowen (one RBI) each contributed at the plate in Lawrence County’s 20-run win. Both Blevins and Gillispie homered for the Lady Bulldogs.

Taylor Blevins pitched a complete game for Lawrence County and earned the win in the circle. Blevins recorded eight strikeouts over six innings.
Lawrence County scored 11 runs on 14 hits. Players throughout Lawrence County’s lineup excelled at the plate. Emalynn Kitts (three hits, three RBIs), Addalyn Woods (two hits, one RBI), Ella Smith (two hits, one RBI), Aleaha Gillispie (two hits), Jada Patton (one hit, three RBIs), Leah Branham (one hit, three RBIs), Abby Maynard (one hit), Gracie Preece (one hit) and Brinley Baisden (one hit) each delivered offensively for the Lady Bulldogs.
