Bulldogs roll to win over Raiders

LOUISA — Lawrence County defeated East Carter 15-3 in five innings in a high school baseball regular season finale on Thursday, May 15.  

The Bulldogs posted their fifth straight win. After registering the win, Lawrence County improved to 19-10.

Braxton Davis pitched a complete game for Lawrence County and earned the win on the mound. Davis recorded six strikeouts.

Logan Rice started on the mound for East Carter and took the loss. Rice pitched two and one-third innings for the Raiders.

Following Rice, Reid Griffith, Riley Steele and Conner Layne each pitched in relief for visiting East Carter.

Lawrence County thrived offensively. The Bulldogs scored 15 runs on 17 hits. Eli Fletcher (three hits, three RBIs), Boedy Maynard (two hits, one RBI), Gray Derifield (two hits, one RBI), Logan Whisenant (two hits), Tyger Cavins (two hits), CJ Whitt (two hits), Brady Caudill (one hit, three RBIs), Cameron Perkins (one hit, one RBI), Owen Pack (one hit, one RBI) and Colin Howard (one hit) each excelled at the plate for Lawrence County in its comfortable victory. Showing power for the Bulldogs, Fletcher homered.

East Carter pushed across three runs on five hits. Rice (one hit), Griffith (one RBI), Brayden Flatt (two hits), Lawson Wilder (one hit, one RBI) and Colin Pennington (one hit) each chipped in offensively for the Raiders.
