LOUISA — Freshman Danielle Crum drilled a two-run home run in the bottom half of the eighth inning to lift homestanding Lawrence County over top-ranked Warren East 5-4 in a high school softball game on Wednesday, April 7.

The win allowed Lawrence County to improve to 3-2. Warren East dropped to 4-2 as a result of the loss.

Sophomore Allie Triplett was the winning pitcher for the Lady Bulldogs. Triplett pitched a complete game, allowing eight hits, one earned run and two walks while recording three strikeouts over eight innings.

Sophomore Kensley Feltner hit her second home run of the season for Lawrence County in the first inning.

Kaitlyn Meddings singled and drove in one run for the Lady Bulldogs.

Providing an extra-base hit of her own for Lawrence County, Gracie Preece doubled.

Helping her pitching cause at the plate, Triplett singled.

Warren East pitcher Emma Markham suffered the loss. Markham pitched a complete game, allowing five runs on four hits while recording 10 strikeouts.

Haylie Brasel and Emma Yong paced Warren East at the plate. Brasel and Young each finished 2-for-4 with one RBI.

Lawrence County returned to the win column following back-to-back losses to Lewis County and 15th Region rival Shelby Valley.
