Lawrence County outlasts Menifee County 59-57 in OT

OWINGSVILLE — Lawrence County managed to outlast Menifee County 59-57 in overtime during the Mike Bromagen Ladycat Classic at Bath County on Saturday, Dec. 21.

The Lady Bulldogs shot 39.7 percent (25-of-63) from the field. Lawrence County made two of 15 three-point field goal attempts.

The Lady Bulldogs shot 58.3 percent (seven-of-12) from the free throw line.

Sophie Adkins led Lawrence County with a game-high double-double, pouring in 31 points and claiming 10 rebounds.

Jada Patton accompanied Adkins in double figures for Lawrence County, scoring 16 points.

Contributing to Lawrence County’s thrilling win, Maddison Artrip scored eight points and Abby Maynard netted four points.

Menifee County shot 38 percent (19-of-50) from the field. The Lady Cats made five of 19 three-point field goal attempts.

Thriving in a key area, Menifee County shot 93.3 percent (14-of-15) from the free throw line.

Jaycee Gevedon paced Menifee County, scoring 21 points for the Lady Cats.

Joining Gevedon in double figures for Menifee County, Shalyne Baker scored 15 points and McKenna Smith netted 10 points.

The other scorers for Menifee County were Andi Wells (seven points), Peyton Profitt (two points) and Addisyn Reed (two points).
