LOUISA — Lawrence County topped Portsmouth (Ohio) 71-60 in its final game before Christmas on Monday, Dec. 23.

After notching the win, former 15th Region boys’ basketball champion Lawrence County improved to 8-1.

Lawrence County shot 38.7 percent (24-of-62) from the field. The Bulldogs made eight of 29 three-point field goal attempts.

Lawrence County shot 50 percent (15-of-30) from the free throw line.

Gunnar Woods led a group of four Lawrence County scorers in double figures, netting 21 points for the Bulldogs.

Joining Woods in double figures for Lawrence County, Kaiden Harris scored 14 points, Kaden Johnson netted 13 points and Hayden Perry posted 12 points.

Rounding out Lawrence County’s scoring, Luke Fetherolf added eight points and Andrew Ratcliff contributed three points.

Nearly recording a double-double, Fetherolf pulled down 12 rebounds for the Bulldogs.
