Lawrence County falls to Floyd Central in 58th District Tournament

EASTERN — Lawrence County couldn’t overcome a slow start as Floyd Central pulled away to win 3-0 during the semifinals of the 58th District Girls’ Volleyball Tournament on Monday, Oct. 20.

The loss eliminated Lawrence County from the 58th District Girls’ Volleyball Tournament.

Defending 58th District girls’ volleyball champion Floyd Central defeated Lawrence County 25-17, 25-21, 25-18.

After registering the win, tournament host Floyd Central advanced to the 58th District girls’ volleyball title match.

In the opening match of the 589th District Girls’ Volleyball Tournament, Betsy Layne blanked Prestonsburg 3-0 (25-11, 25-22, 25-22).

Lawrence County exited the 2025 girls’ high school volleyball season 9-16.
